Is Wenger now set for long stay at Arsenal?

There are has been quite a lot of argument about Arsene Wenger’s future in recent time. Many Arsenal fans have been against the renewal of his contract as Arsenal manager. The story at the beginning of the season was that the Frenchman would sign a new contract extension and huge figures were quoted. The news back then generated a lot contradictory reactions among the followers of football, as reported by The Independent, and Arsenal fans and many pundits who have been very critical of our dear club took the opportunity to criticize the board, the fans and the manager, even many ex-players reacted very angrily at the news. The supporters forum came out with a declaration that Wenger must earn the new contract, their position was that he must win a trophy or three for the Gunners, or leave our club. Many even said that Le Prof was already destined for PSG next year. There was also another angle during the transfer window that many top players had turned Arsenal down because they were not sure of Wenger’s future at the club, but with the recent statement from Ozil it appears as if the boss must have assured him that he will be around for a long while at Arsenal FC.
