Extra: Wenger on CSKA and Arshavin

Arsène Wenger faced the media ahead of the
Premier League clash with Liverpool. Here's
our round-up of the manager's quotes. For the

on Uefa's decision to close a section of CSKA's
ground…
It's very difficult. First of all I believe it's very positive
that they take action [against racist abuse] and they
show they are sensitive to that subject and they have
my complete support.
Personally, I would like individuals who abuse other
people through racist chants to be published more
than the club. I think today we have the modern
technology to isolate people who chant and I would
personally prefer much more that individually people
become responsible, not only the clubs.
on Arshavin criticising the Emirates
atmosphere...
I always said that we had a difficult period at the
Emirates last season when people were sceptical
about us. They were as well a bit sceptical about him.
They did not give him that support that every player
needs.
I always thought it is down to us to get the crowd on
our side. But since the start of the season, and the
part of the crowd that was noisy after Aston Villa,
they have been massively behind us.
