Arsenal can take control of `Group of Death`against Napoli

When the draw for the Champions League group
stages was made, I don't think there was an Arsenal
fan alive that didn't groan, inwardly or outwardly. It
really could not have been much worse unless we
had got PSG instead of Marseille along with Borussia
Dortmund and Napoli. BUT, and it is a big but, I said
at the time that the other teams in the group would
be feeling the same, if not worse, because they had
to face Arsenal.
I think that we forget sometimes just how well
Arsenal are regarded on the continent. Do you think
that it went un-noticed that the Gunners were the
one and only team to beat Bayern in Munich last
season? Did we get a place in the pot of eight highest
seeded European teams as a favour, or is it because
Arsenal ALWAYS get out of the group?
The group of death tag has taken on even more
resonance as well, because three of the four teams,
Arsenal, Napoli and Dortmund, are at the top of their
respective leagues. Marseille are letting the side
down by lagging disappointingly in third place, a
massive one point behind the financial powerhouse
that is PSG.
So imagine how good it will be to beat Napoli on
Tuesday, making us clearly in control of the group of
Diamonds (hard), magicians (tricky), shark teasing
(dangerous) and PH kits (testing). We would have
one foot in the next round, and with a double header
against Dortmund to come, it would be brilliant for
confidence, and I can see it happening. Are you ready
to be happy Gooners?
