Arsenal superstar training hard to be fit in time for Napoli clash
Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla, who last featured
for Arsenal in the North London Derby, is hoping to
be fit for Napoli’s visit to the Emirates in a week’s
time. Cazorla, who injured his ankle on international
duty, has missed the last 3 games for Arsenal.
Santi’s injury is healing well, and he told Sphera
Sports ‘I hope to be back shortly. Every day I’m
feeling better and I’m working on all ways to reduce
my downtime. It all depends on how I train and
strengthen my ankle. As the days go by I am doing
more things and if all goes well I will try to return for
the game against Napoli, but that’s not
certain.’Arsenal have fared well without their
2012-2013 Player of the Year, winning all the three
matches he has missed, owing to the fact that Mesut
Ozil has walked into the team and replaced him. The
prospect of Cazorla and Ozil pairing together will be
mouthwatering and Arsenal fans will be craving for
them to play side by side.
Cazorla will now be needed more than ever since
Walcott will be out until the International break, and
Arsenal have no fit first team wide players left in
their squad.
Cazorla is optimistic about the season after Arsenal’s
strong start. The Spaniard said, ‘Hopefully we win the
title, but it is too early to talk about it. The beginning
is very good. After the first loss the team is
performing at a good level. We are consistent, that is
what we lacked last season. Furthermore, the
incorporation of Mesut Ozil has given us a big leap in
quality.
‘Hopefully we can now become one of the great
teams and that gives us the chance to fight for the
title.’
