Pogba claims he did snub Arsenal for Juventus
Arsenal were chasing Paul Pogba! by Simaoatb
Arsenal were linked with a whole host of players over
the course of the summer, some of which were top
quality like Luis Suarez and some of which were
perhaps nothing more than a Sunday league player,
however at the end of the window, Arsenal fans were
left generally happy, especially with the signing of
Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
Aside from Ozil, other big name players we were
linked with were the likes of Angel Di Maria, Luis
Suarez and Wayne Rooney. All of which were heavily
exciting players, but one player in particular, Paul
Pogba, Arsenal fans went absolutely crazy over. He
may not be the best player in the world but at just 20
years old he has massive talent and therefore is full
of potential.
As an ex-Man United player, it would have been even
better to sign the Frenchman, and not only that but
he would have also solved our defensive midfielder
crisis. There were originally reports stating we had
made a £20 million bid and at first they were quickly
brushed away, however further reports then went on
that Pogba had in fact stated he wasn’t interested in
leaving Juventus, and now his latest quotes certainly
seem to prove that.
In an interview with Sky Italia, reported by
soccersouls.com Pogba stated
:
“Were there other clubs chasing me? Yes, but I had
my mind only on Juventus. At the time I heard of
interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, and in Italy, AC
Milan, but there is no one like Juve. As for my future?
I’m glad to be here. I want to win as many trophies as
I can in this shirt.”
Pogba would have been an absolutely fantastic
signing however I fear that had we signed Pogba, we
wouldn’t have got Ozil. Not only because of the price
but also because Wenger wouldn’t have signed two
top quality midfielders. Also how can we forget we
now have the amazing Mathieu Flamini back
amongst our ranks. Pogba is no real loss for Arsenal,
trust me.
