Sagna is still no nearer to signing a new deal.
Contract talks between Bacary Sagna and Arsenal
have been ongoing for some time, but with the
defender's deal running out next summer things look
unlikely to be resolved.
Sagna is currently paid around £60,000-a-week by
the Gunners, but the club are unwilling to raise that
offer and with lucrative deals from both Manchester
City and Real Madrid having been rejected by the
Frenchman, things don't look promising.
A number of clubs have been alerted to the right-
back's impending departure, with Fenerbahce,
Galatasaray, AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain all
on the hunt.
The 30-year-old is likely to favour a return to the full-
back's home nation, especially with the rise in
European stature that both Monaco and PSG are
currently enjoying.
This would leave Arsene Wenger with something of a
dilemna, as only youngster Carl Jenkinson is
available as a replacement at the Emirates Stadium
at the moment.
The manager is likely to want to bring in more
reinforcement for Sagna - a player that has been first
choice at the club since 2007.
The France international has struggled with injury
during that time, but has impressed once again this
campaign when playing; although is currently out
with a hamstring problem.
Sagna is now one of the longest serving members of
the squad and provides vital experience to the
plethora of younger players.
Wenger has already told chief scout Steve Rowley to
begin the search for a new right-back, with the first
port of call being the under-17 World Cup in United
Arab Emirates.
