Why Arsenal got to TOP and how they can STAY THERE

So it seems that many footballing fans, pundits,
experts and so on are somewhat astounded to see
Arsenal at the top of the Premier League. Although
without trying to get ahead of ourselves, I have taken
the liberty to highlight exactly what has changed
over the last twelve months for such a resurgence.
Arsenal last season and prior to last season have
been heavily criticised for selling the club's best
players and then not replacing them with big
summer signings. With the addition of Ozil and
Flamini, Arsenal have the flair that was once evident
in the Fabregas/Nasri days but also the tenacity that
Arsene Wenger was once renowned for with the likes
of Vieira and Silva. Just adding two players has really
changed the outlook of a decent Arsenal side to a
potential cup winning team, which is something that
has been missing.
Here is one of the reasons for this:
24 potential starting Players
GK:
Szczesney
Def:
Sagna, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny,
Vermaelen, Gibbs, Monreal
Mid:
Ozil, Cazorla, Flamini, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere,
Rosicky, Miyaichi, Diaby
Fwd:
Giroud, Walcott, Chamberlain, Podolski, Gnabry,
Sanogo, Akpom
Unlike in previous seasons when Arsenal have failed
to keep players fit meaning they have fallen by the
wayside when it comes to the big crunch matches.
Although it seems like this squad is still a bit short of
becoming a title winning side, there looks to be some
promising things coming in the near future. With the
addition of 2/3 players in January, we may see what
Arsenal haven't done for eight years… LIFT A
TROPHY!!
What Wenger should do:
If Wenger can sign a centre back to add more cover
in the likes of Micah Richards who can also play full
back with his pace and power, a player like Remy
who can play out wide or up front and one more
striker to add more depth in attacking options, the
likes of a clinical finisher, unfortunately it seems
Arsenal won't sign Drogba and missed out on Villa,
but Michu seems to be somebody who can fit the
Arsenal bill.
Conclusion
That would make a squad of 24+ players, all able to
get into Arsenal's starting line up and give Wenger a
selection headache but ultimately a team worthy of
winning trophies. With players aged from around
18-30, youth and experience, skill and tenacity,
Arsenal will become a fearsome and relentless side.
