Arsenal hope to use Park as bait for Guilavogui capture
Arsenal’s flop forward Park Chu-Young may finally
start preparing for a life away from the Emirates.
According to reports in French newspaper L’Equipe,
Lorient, Saint-Etienne and Rennes are showing some
late interest in the South Korean’s services.
Park joined the Gunners in 2011 controversially, after
snubbing a move to Lille despite concluding a
medical at the club. However, Arsene Wenger didn’t
rate the player highly after seeing him in action
resulting in just six appearances in his debut season
wherein he scored a solitary goal. Wenger then
decided to loan him out to Celta Vigo. However, the
27 year old failed to make much of an impact at
Spain either, netting just 4 goals in 26 appearances
for the club.
Park has reportedly drawn the interest of Saint-
Etienne for quite some time and it is reported that
the aforementioned sides might now be locked in a
three way battle to acquire his services. The South
Korean International had been impressive in his
appearances for Monaco during his three year stay at
the club and that is what has help him retain some
value back in France.
Meanwhile, Wenger could make use of Saint-
Etienne’s interest in Park to bring midfielder Josuha
Guilavogui to the Emirates. The French tactician has
shown an active interest in the 22 year old and might
contemplate using Park as bait to land him, if the
deal for Yohan Cabaye fails to materialise.
