Come on Arsenal fans, be glad to be Gunners!!
I cannot believe how pessimistic some Arsenal fans
are at the minute. I know that the club’s transfer
business has been disappointing so far this summer,
BUT the window does not close until Monday night as
far as I am aware. There are people despairing about
the Champions League draw and worrying about how
we are going to cope with the new Tottenham
signings tomorrow. Well all I can say is, wait until
Tuesday.
I fully expect Arsene to have made a couple of great
signings by then. As I watched his press conference
from yesterday, it struck me that there is no way he
would be so calm, smiling and joking, if he didn’t
have a few red hot irons in the fire. He even clearly
said he was when somebody asked if he was
confident about bringing players in. Add to the fact
that he said he would not panic buy, that means the
club have players lined up.
On to Spurs. Forget about the new players who may
or may not even play tomorrow, the biggest change
to their team will be the absence of Bale. Let’s be
honest, we all hoped he would leave them this
summer. You can’t play six players instead of him,
only one. Arsenal can field, arguably, our strongest
side. Ramsey, Rosicky and Giroud are all much
improved from last season and we have the best
defensive pairing of Kos and Mert, with Szczesny
looking sharp behind them. AVB will be playing for a
draw, but he won’t get it.
Okay, we got a tough draw in the Champions League,
but shit happens. All the other teams will be thinking
the same and Wenger and Arsenal are group stage
masters. Oh, and we did beat the holders in their own
ground last year don’t forget. Also, Poldi and the Ox
will only miss a game or two in Europe before they
recover.
So come on Gooners, suspend your anger until
Tuesday, enjoy us beating AVB’s mob and be glad to
be a Gunner.
