Why tomorrow is a MUST WIN game for Arsenal

It’s North London derby day tomorrow, and it has always been a heated affair full of dirty tackles, chanting, exciting football and passionate fans. The rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham is perhaps one of the strongest in Europe and it always kicks up a fight between the two teams and the fact that the teams are now so evenly balanced makes the games even more tense and exciting, although unfortunately it does make it a little more difficult for Arsenal to win. For many years the North London Derby always had one expected outcome. All three points to either remain or go back to the red half of North London. However in more recent times Arsenal have been given a match by Spurs, as they constantly improve whilst Arsenal seem to fall down a notch. This year is going to be particularly exciting because I feel that the teams are now on the same level. Tottenham have strengthened massively and we are now on the same level so much so that this is now more than a game. Even though it’s early on in the season, this game means so much because it could potentially widen the gap to 6 points for Spurs if they win. And that’s just after 3 league games! It’s vital we win not just for the league points to take us level and perhaps above, depending on goal difference, but it will also mean an awful lot to the fans. Arsenal fans have had a horribly disappointing summer, whilst Spurs have punched above their weight and arguably succeeded. Moves for Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado and Paulinho means they now have a very strong squad to add to the good team they already had and without trying to be too praising of Spurs, I have to be honest and say I really don’t feel confident in the long run for Arsenal. A win for Arsenal will regain some of that hope as well as please the fans; however we must reiterate that we make some more signings before the window closes. Hopefully Wenger may have completed all his business by the time the derby kicks off on Sunday, however even if he hasn’t then we still have one more day to make something happen, and I predict we could be in for a major overhaul of incoming players on deadline day like we saw 2 years ago.
