BREAKING: Arsenal finally sign a goalkeeper!
The Metro has revealed that the North Londoners
have finally signed goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano form
the Italian second divison side Palermo
The 27-year-old was formerly linked to the Gunners
and they had almost completed his signing, but the
deal collapsed at the last minute, claims the website.
Wenger had been linked to a few keepers as well this
summer including Julio Cesar, and the Frenchman
was chasing Valencia’s Vicente Guaita, but an
agreement could not be reached.
Viviano is not an anonymous being for those who
follow Italian football as he has made 8 appearances
for his national side (Italy) and he spent the last
season on loan at the Serie A side Fiorentina where
he made 32 appearances.
Apparently, the keeper will have his medical today
because the transfer window shuts down, and the
Gunners are planning to get him on season-long loan
first and then make him their official player.
Viviano will prove to be a tough competitor for
Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski as both of
the keepers are still rotated by Wenger.
