Arsène Wenger says Robert Pires can help to
educate the younger players at Arsenal.
The Gunners legend was named as an ambassador
for The Arsenal Foundation last season and has
been training at London Colney in recent weeks.
I feel always there is no better education
than playing players at that age with top-
level players
Arsène Wenger
Wenger confirmed that Pires would not emulate
Mathieu Flamini, who rejoined the Club in the
summer, but the manager believes Pires' presence
can be hugely beneficial for Arsenal's next
generation of talent.
"No Robert Pires will not join us, he was born in 1973.
He is still very fit and a great player and we are
always happy to have him in training but he just
occasionally comes in to practice," said Wenger.
"It's a great opportunity [for the young players]. He
practices with the young players with the under-21
team, and I feel always there is no better education
than playing players at that age with top-level
players."
