Abou Diaby's injury woes continue as the midfielder
has undergone more surgery on his cruciate knee
ligament.
The Frenchman suffered the same injury in March
this year and was expected to return to the fold
toward the end of 2013, but now any hope of playing
this season seems remote after undergoing keyhole
surgery to rectify problems he was still suffering with
the troublesome knee.
Arsene Wenger revealed the bad news:
He had a little key hole surgery again, on the the
knee because his knee blew up every time he did
something so it is now six months after the
cruciate.
He could not even jog yet so with new surgery it
is a set back for him so competitive football
cannot be played before March.
The unfortunate midfielder has had an injury plagued
career with the Gunners and setbacks continue to
occur time after time.
There is no doubting his quality when he is fit
however it's now rare that he's even on the squad
sheet.
Wenger clarified that despite his latest setback, there
is still hope for Diaby in north London with his terms
still valid for another season.
The Frenchman added:
He has one and a half years to go on his contract.
Yet another massive blow for the France
international, his career is slowly ticking away and
without fulfilling his vast potential.
There is little hope that we will return and become
the player he was always supposed to be, and you
have to feel extremely sorry for him.
Regardless of how frustrating it is to see Arsenal
pouring money down the drain on Diaby, he is a very
professional player and whiles he's an Gunner we
must stand behind him.
