Birthday boy Mesut Ozil scored one and made one
but went off in the second half as Germany came
from two goals down to beat Sweden 5-3. Tobias
Hysen put the hosts in front on six minutes before
Alexander Kacaniklic put Sweden further ahead in
the 42nd minute. But Ozil pulled a goal back on the
stroke of half-time and Mario Gotze equalised eight
minutes after the break. Chelsea forward Andre
Schurrle put the visitors in front on 57 minutes
before increasing their lead nine minutes later.
Hysen made it 4-3 in the 69th minute but Schurrle
completed his hat-trick with 14 minutes remaining to
put the result beyond doubt.

Aaron Ramsey continued his fine goalscoring form
with a late equaliser to give Chris Coleman's side a

Kevin De Bruyne had given the hosts a 64th minute
lead.

Wojciech Szczesny replaced Artur Boruc in goal as
Poland lost 2-0 to England at Wembley on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old made a string of fine saves but
Wayne Rooney's header and Steven Gerrard's late
second gave England the win they needed to qualify
for the World Cup.

Laurent Koscielny completed 90 minutes and
Olivier Giroud played 81 in France's 3-0 win over
Finland on Tuesday. Frank Ribery gave Les Bleus the
lead after seven minutes. France had to wait until the
76th minute for their second, when Joona Toivio put
the ball into his own net. Giroud's replacement Karim
Benzema added a third late on but Didier
Deschamps' team had to settle for a play-off place
after finishing below Spain in Group I.

Jack Wilshere played the last eight minutes as
England secured their place in the World Cup with a
2-0 win over Poland at Wembley. Wayne Rooney's
header put Roy Hodgson's side ahead in the 41st
minute and captain Steven Gerrard sealed victory
with a neat finish two minutes from time. Kieran
Gibbs was again an unused substitute.

Nacho Monreal was an unused substitute as
holders Spain confirmed their place in the World Cup
with a 2-0 win over Georgia. Man City forward Alvaro
Negredo put Spain in front in the 26th minute before
substitute Juan Mata netted their second just after
the hour.

team after 63 minutes but Aaron Ramsey grabbed
a late equaliser two minutes from time.

sealed another comprehensive victory for Gareth
Southgate's side.
