Mourinho vows to help Arsenal in cup!!

I have pinched myself so many times this morning
that my arm is starting to look like a footballer's
sleeve tattoo. Arsenal fans are not used to this, but
things really are going as well as they have for many
a long year. The fact that Arsenal are sitting proudly
at the top of the Premier League table is good, but
being there with the most injury problems in the
league is pretty remarkable.
Cast your minds back to Saturday 17th August, when
Arsenal fans were in the depths of despair after
losing to Aston Villa and having just one injury prone
free transfer to add to the team, and it makes the
current situation all the more special. However,
Gooners, I am going to inject a note of caution now.
Owen may be an idiot, and Carragher may be too
dismissive of Arsenal's abilities, but it really is too
soon to celebrating.
There are still big obstacles for Arsenal to overcome,
and the main one is whether the squad can cope with
a heavy and intense fixture list over the course of the
season. In my opinion we are one Giroud injury away
from seeing a really promising start head south
quickly. I think that Wenger realises this as well,
which is why the big Frenchman was completely
rested for the cup game at West Brom.
So when I saw that the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho
has declared that he will play an under 21s side
against the Gunners in the next round I heaved a
huge sigh of relief. Against most teams, Wenger
would have had no problem playing the kids again.
Even if we lost, you could see the method in his
madness, but when we were drawn with Chelsea, I
thought that it gave Wenger a big problem. You do
not want to lose any game to one of your main rivals,
but if you are plating youngsters against youngsters,
it does not mean half as much.
So thanks Jose, because the chance to rest our big
players at the end of October could be vital to our
title challenge, and if Arsenal beat Mourinho's men to
progress to the quarter-finals, then we could start
thinking about a trophy…
