Should Arsenal go back for Suarez in January?
Despite various rumours suggesting that Arsenal or
Real Madrid might make a last ditch attempt to sign
the Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez from Liverpool, the
26-year old is still at Anfield and seems to be happy
to stay, at least for now, and try to bring back some
of the club’s former glories.
What is undeniable, though, is that Arsene Wenger
really did want to sign the bad boy of English
football, even if he was mistaken of misled about the
clause in Suarez’ contract. I just wonder if that is
that, or whether the Arsenal boss might be thinking
of another try in the January transfer window, or even
next summer.
Suarez has told the Mirror that he has not been
thinking of leaving Liverpool,
but after his claims that Brendan Rodgers and the
club had broken promises to him, how much can we
really believe that? Personally, I think that some sort
of deal has been arranged behind the scenes to keep
the fans happy and try to get the best out of him
while they can.
Liverpool have got their season off to a flying start
this season and are currently sitting pretty at the top
of the table. If they are still there or thereabouts in
January, I don’t think Suarez will even be an issue,
but if they struggle to keep up their good form and
look like missing out on the Champions League
again, I can see the striker getting twitchy and
impatient to join a team that he feels can match his
talent and ambition. Olivier Giroud is looking like the
player we were all hoping for, but he cannot do it all
alone, so I would be surprised if Wenger did not sign
another quality front man in January, but who?
What do you think Gooners?
